Teenager receives aid after falling from a vehicle

About 11:45am today, aid and law enforcement were dispatched to the intersection of Golden Eagle Drive and Washington Street for a report of a person down.

According to Ferndale School District Spokesperson Erin Vincent, a Ferndale High School student was getting into a car as a passenger during the lunch period and the car began moving before student was fully inside. The student’s parents were contacted and he was released to them after being treated at the scene.

Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Ben Boyko said they did treat a teenage patient who had minor injuries but did not require transport to the hospital.

Ferndale Police Sergeant John VanderYacht said no one was cited.
