Whatcom County Fire District 7 crews and Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a head-on crash about 12:45pm today in the 6200 block of Northwest Drive.
The two vehicles involved in the crash ended up in a parking area by Boxx Berry Farms’ self-serve produce stand on the west side of the road. According to officials at the scene, a black Mazda Miata was southbound and a blue Honda Odyssey van was northbound when the two collided. The crash caused the Honda to spin around, facing the opposite direction, and the Mazda ended up rolling into a parked Mercedes-Benz SUV.
The Honda sustained right-side front-end damage while the Mazda sustain extensive front-end damage. Airbags had been deployed in both vehicles. There was minimal damage to the parked vehicle.
One person in the Honda was treated at the scene and then transported to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center where her injuries would be further assessed. No other injuries were reported. It was not known if any charges were pending.
